TT fans warned of hours-long tailbacks at Heysham port

There are warnings for drivers travelling to the Isle of Man for the TT via Heysham - with heavy traffic and long tailbacks around the port.

Motorists have been posting messages and photos saying people should arrive hours early because of long traffic queues caused by HGVs on the approaches to the town.

In a TT Facebook group, a number of people say they've missed ferry crossings because of the holdups.

In true biker style, those on two wheels say they've simply cruised through the jams.

In a statement, the Steam Packet Company is advising people to leave extra time for their journeys.
