Planned Liverpool cancer facility will greatly benefit local patients

A new specialist cancer centre in Liverpool is set to greatly benefit Island based patients.

The IOM Anti-Cancer Association is working alongside the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and its affiliated charity to raise the £115 million needed to build the new facility in the city centre.

Each year 950 cancer patients travel to Merseyside for specialist treatments which can't be provided locally.

Having a centralised facility would drastically cut down the amount of travelling for the patients, as well as offering a range of new treatments.

The plans will be presented to the public at a special presentation at the Keyll Darree Lecture Theatre on Friday evening at 7.30pm.
