Manx community spirit shines through during Island storms

A motorist has been praised for going above and beyond to help others after a tree came crashing down during Saturday's storms.

Bruce Fromm grabbed a chainsaw and, despite torrential rain, set about clearing the road near Glen Mona to help motorists travelling to and from Ramsey.

One grateful woman shared the story on social media, thanking him for stepping in and describing him as a hero and an Action Man.

Bruce says it was no trouble at all, adding it was just a lucky coincidence he'd picked up his chainsaw before setting off.
