Penalties to be Given to Motorists Who Disregard Michael Street Closing Times
Motorists driving into Peel are being told they face the possibility of a fixed penalty notice if they drive into Michael Street during the hours it’s closed to cars.
Steps were taken recently to remove the open and closed signs on Michael Street due to cost implications, the Police are currently working to impress on the public the times the street is shut to traffic.
Since the signs have been removed there are still reports of cars driving down the street at the wrong times, Police are concerned that the common oversight could result in an serious accident.
