The Treasury says it mistakenly paid out more than £64,000 in benefits last year.
A Freedom of Information request asked for details about payments made in error.
In its response, the Treasury said last year 106 mistakes were found - well down on 141 the previous year.
And it said the overpayments last year were less than half of the £138,500 paid the year before.
