Rushen MHK Juan Watterson says he can sympathise with Port Erin traders unhappy about ongoing roadworks, but says things will get better.
Some traders have complained about the village's main road being closed while regeneration work gets underway.
Mr Watterson says when it's finished, the village will be a much better place for visitors.
But he says he understands why local businesses are unhappy:
