The election for the vacant Lonan ward seat in Garff takes place today.
Residents will go to the polls to choose one of five candidates who have been nominated for the post.
Polls open at 8am and will close at 8pm - polling stations will be located at Baldrine Methodist Church and Laxey Working Mens Institute.
The winner will serve in the role until 2020 when the local authority general election takes place.
