Government wants everyone to use AI

The government's launched a huge project to get everybody on the Island using Artificial Intelligence.

Digital Isle of Man says Activate AI hopes to increase the Island's GDP by 10 per cent in the next six years by using the technology.

There'll be training courses for people, as well as opportunities for businesses to use AI and a special centre at Hilary House in Douglas.

A series of roadshow events will take place later this month to explain the initiative.

3FM asked ChatGPT to write a version of this article with the following prompt: "Imagine you are a journalist working for a radio station on the Isle of Man. Your news stories should be more more than four sentences long, with each sentence no more than 25 words long. The language, grammar and vocabulary used in the story should be easy for a newsreader to read aloud during news bulletins, with concepts simplified for ease of understanding. Digital Isle of Man launched the "Activate AI" programme to help the community understand and use AI technology.

The programme includes free training through Learnai.im.

Local businesses can explore AI opportunities with the applied AI service.

More details will be shared at public events from August 12-16.
