Government will be appointing a consultant to help attract expressions of interest for a wind farm in Manx waters.
Areas for development have been earmarked already, with Tynwald committing earlier this year to explore opportunities to develop offshore energy production for export to the UK.
It’s anticipated that an energy company deal would generate millions for government coffers.
Economic Development Minister John Shimmin says detractors to a wind farm development need to look at the bigger picture:
LegCo to face questions in this morning's sitting
Passport prices to rise
House of Keys to sit for final time before election
Island cyclist to ride in Tour De France
Police appeal over promenade street brawl
Well-known farm in the west up for sale
