Emergency services were called out yesterday following reports of a steam turbine fire at the Island's waste facility.
Just before 10am firefighters went to Richmond Hill to find the fire had been extinguished.
However, machinery was retaining heat and therefore the blaze was likely to reignite.
Working alongside staff, and using thermal imaging cameras and breathing apparatus the turbine was cooled and crews remained at the scene for an hour and a half.
