Douglas Council is asking people not to put knives in recycling bins.
This morning on Facebook, it said workers discovered two blades as they sorted through collections.
The local authority says such items risk injuring staff and damaging equipment.
It says they should be disposed of responsibly and never left in recycling boxes.
