Coastguards were called out to help someone in distress in Douglas harbour this morning.
Officers were alerted just before 2am as police tried to help someone on one of the ladders around Douglas Marina.
Police officers managed to persuade the person, described as vulnerable, to climb back up onto the quayside.
The operation took around 50 minutes.
