Chief instructs DED to analyse employment "disconnect"

Investigations will be carried out to find out why there's an "apparent disconnect" between unemployment on the Island and the number of job vacancies. 

Last month the unemployment rate rose to 1.7 per cent with 774 people out of work. 
 
In this time 665 vacancies were notified to the Job Centre - the Chief Minister says it's this which raises concerns. 
 
Allan Bell's instructed the Department of Economic Development to look into it saying it may need to look at tailored support packages following changes to the benefits system:
