Workers union to open new premises next week

The general secretary of Prospect will be on Island next week to open the union's new premises.

The workers union has up-scaled to larger premises in light of growing demand for services.

Since the start of the economic downturn and the ensuing wage freezes and pay disputes, the union has seen membership double to over 2,000.

We asked negotiations officer Angela Moffatt if the situation had improved of late:
