Fresh regeneration works in Peel are expected to start today.
The Market Place and the section of Douglas Street leading to Michael Street will be transformed as the streets are laid with buff-coloured natural sandstone paving.
Co-ordinated street furniture is being installed and St. Peter's Church will see changes too, as the entrance is opened up and made accessible.
MHK for Peel Ray Harmer serves as chair of the Regeneration Committee - he's said it's hoped the plans will encourage businesses to invest in the area.
