Water and Sewerage report to go before Tynwald

The Isle of Man Water and Sewerage Authority will be laying their annual report before next week’s sitting of Tynwald.

The report will detail how the Authority will continue to be funded from two separate sources.

Drinking water will continue to be funded by water rates and meter charges, whilst the sewerage function is taken from the government’s general revenues via the Treasury.

The report will also highlight the progression of plans to replace the small sewage treatment plants around the West and North of the Island; a major project which will eventually result in the end of raw sewage being discharged into seas around the Island.

They will also give an update on the Boards plans to repay the £75 million bond taken out in 2000, its forecast it will have been repaid in full by 2030.
