Vandals destroy fencing

Police in the West of the Island are investigating incidents of criminal damage caused to fencing belonging to the Forestry Amenity and Lands Directorate.

The first incident occurred sometime between the 1st and 16th November, the vandals smashed sections of wooden fencing and rails and proceeded to then drive over them.

This happened at the junction of the Baltic and Slieau Curn Roads which are both Green Lanes on the Michael Hills.

The second incident occurred between 12th and 20th November when fencing was broken to the side of the locked gate to Beckwith's mine in Glen Rushen.

It was apparent motorbikes had then accessed the area for scrambling purposes, a four wheel drive had also been in the area.

An appeal has gone out to any witnesses to come forward and aid the investigation.
