Tynwald members have voted unanimously to widen an investigation into historical child sex abuse.
When the court sat this week, chair of the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee David Cretney said further allegations had come to light during a probe into abuse at the former Knottfield Home in Douglas.
The committee was due to report next month, but Mr Cretney said the date was no longer realistic given the amount of evidence that needs to be looked into.
Tynwald members backed a motion to extend the investigation into historical abuse not connected to Knottfield.
