£4.8 Million Set Aside for Capital Projects
Members of Tynwald will be asked to approve a major £4.8 million capital spending project in the return sitting this month.
The money has been earmarked to maintain the vitality of the local construction industry and progress a range of projects.
Of the biggest expenditures £1.6 million will go on a GP surgery in Jurby, with £1.5 going on upgrades to the Snaefell Mountain Railway track.
As it stands the Government are the construction industry’s biggest customer and account for about 70 percent of the sectors spending.
Treasury Minister Anne Craine commented saying 'capital spending projects are vital as they support the Island’s economy whilst maintaining the Island’s infrastructure'.
