Tomorrow is the final chance to see the Island’s last remaining mercury arc rectifier operating in its original setting.
The public are welcome to visit Laxey’s old substation between 11am and 2pm.Work to build a new substation finished in March and will provide power for the Manx Electric Railway.
Directions to the old substation can be obtained from Laxey Station. The shortest walking route is via steps close to the village commissioners’ office on Main Road.
