Tesco has been granted a provisional alcohol licence for a new Express store in Douglas.
The retail giant got the approval at Douglas Courthouse today for the unit in The Strand Centre on Strand Street.
It will take over the space left vacant by the closure of the Manx Electricity Authority shop.
Centre owner Brian Eaton says he’s “delighted” with the outcome saying he hopes it will increase footfall and benefit all retailers in that part of town.
