Snowfall expected this weekend

Following on from weeks of gale-force winds the Met Office now thinks the Island could be set for some snowfall over the weekend.

Speaking to 3FM, Adrian Cowin of the Met Office said areas higher than 500ft could expect to see significant coverings over the next few days.

He said this could spread to lower ground but it would be only light coverings at worst.

Nevertheless, it appears the first significant snowfall of the year could soon be upon us (see audio).
