Should the last bank in town have to guarantee services continue after it closes down?

That's the issue on the mind of Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse.

When Tynwald sits this month, he's set to put forward a motion demanding banks are forced to maintain core banking services for at least 10 years after the branch has closed.

He'll ask Treasury Minister Dr Alex Allinson to come up with ideas for laws that could enforce the idea, and report to Tynwald by the end of October.
