A shop assistant who was ambushed by a masked robber has been told she's shown "tremendous courage".
The young woman was in court on Wednesday to watch 26-year-old Jamie Christopher Hall sentenced to two years and 11 months in prison.
He robbed Newby's Newsagent in Douglas in November 2015 - striking as the woman, who'd only been working at the shop for two weeks, was in the process of closing up.
Detective Constable Samuel Cannell says he's pleased the case has now concluded:
Addressing the woman personally Deemster Montgomerie told her she was "very brave" for attending court adding "nobody should have to go through what you did".
