School applies to keep TT campsite

A school in Douglas has applied for planning permission to keep hosting campers during TT and Manx Grand Prix.

Ballakermeen High School says it's held temporary campsites on its grounds for the last 10 years but now needs to extend planning permission to cover future events.

If it gets the go-ahead, it would host up to 150 bell tents from this year's TT festival onwards.

Its reception area is staffed from 7am until 10pm, and the site operates strict behaviour rules which ban fires, alcohol and late-night noise.
