Will you give the gift of listening this Christmas?
The Isle of Man branch of Samaritans is looking for volunteers as the festive season fast approaches.
On Christmas Eve 2018, almost 1,650 dedicated volunteers reported for duty at branches in the UK, Isle of Man and the Republic of Ireland.
On Christmas day itself, thousands of calls were received from people feeling overwhelmed.
Lesley Moughtin from the Isle of Man branch of Samaritans says you don’t just need to be a listening volunteer to help people, anyone can give the important gift of listening.
The service is completely free and anonymous - and offers emotional support in person, telephone or email 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
If you’d like some more information about volunteering opportunities, you can contact samaritans@manx.net.
