Laws to give parents and carers new rights when it comes to leave from work have been given Royal Assent.
The Employment Act 2026 will provide extra leave for parents whose babies require neonatal intensive care, and better support workers with caring responsibilities.
It also allows the Department for Enterprise to expand eligibility for parental bereavement leave.
The government says it hopes the regulations will be brought in early in next administration.
