Public encouraged to take part in New Years Day dips

One of the Island most loved annual traditions will be taking place on Sunday morning, with hundreds expected to take part in the New Year\'s Day dip.

Scores of fundraisers will be plunging into the icy waters in Peel, Port St Mary, Port Erin, Gansey, Ramsey and Laxey watched by many considerably dryer spectators.

The Peel Dip has been in full flow since it started in the early 80s, with those dipping in the south with the toughest challenge ahead, with 4 seperate dips to contend with.

Taking part is easy to do, with as many people as possible encouraged to show up on the day.

This year's dip is in aid of the charity Autism initiatives.
