Prosecution for businesses ignoring health and safety

Local businesses have been warned that they face prosecution if they fail to comply with health and safety rules.

It follows a recent case where a trader received a 10-week prison sentence, suspended for two years, and a £1000 fine for breaching a prohibition notice.
 
It was after the man continued to operate his business despite an enforcement notice having been issued.
