Project to mark International Year of the Bat

The Manx Bat Group is appealing for wildlife enthusiasts to come forward to help with a new project to mark International Year of the Bat.

The group is holding a Bat Search during the spring and summer months in order to collect information about the Island’s bat population.

Volunteers will be trained how to use a bat detector and will be given different points around the Island to survey.

Chairman of the Manx Bat Group, Bob Moon, told 3FM that the surveys would provide some very valuable information:
