A paramedic caught doing more than twice the speed limit in Kirk Michael was in a rush to attend a meeting about a prison officer who'd been stabbed in the head, a court's heard.
Douglas Scott of Royal Avenue in Onchan admitted speeding when he appeared before magistrates this week.
The court heard the 54 year old had been distracted as he was spotted by police doing 66mph in a 30 limit at Douglas Road Corner on January 17.
Scott was fined £350, ordered to pay £50 in costs and will have nine penalty points put on his licence.
