A Port Erin man banned from driving four years ago was caught behind the wheel despite never retaking his test, a court’s heard.
Callum Thomas Radcliffe of Magherrosien appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse via a live video link from police headquarters.
The 29 year old cafe worker hasn’t yet entered a plea to one charge of driving whilst disqualified on the Peel Coast Road on June 1.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing officers stopped Mr Radcliffe in a black BMW 530 at around midday and discovered he’d been banned from the roads in March 2016.
She said he wasn’t displaying L-plates, only had a provisional licence and the person in the passenger seat couldn’t drive.
Mr Radcliffe was bailed in the sum of £500 on condition he doesn’t drive and will next appear in court on June 16.
