UK forensics testing is "protracted" and expensive say police

Sending drugs to the UK to be forensically tested is "protracted" and causing "considerable expense" for the Isle of Man Constabulary. 

That's the admission from police after criticism that the current set-up is delaying criminal cases - with one prosecutor describing it as "completely unacceptable to justice".
 
At present substances have to be hand delivered to England with four routine visits scheduled per year - ad-hoc visits are also carried out when required:
