Noble's Hospital might close Ward 20 over the summer to save the taxpayer approximately £250,000.
That's the message from Minister for Health and Social Care Howard Quayle - who says the department is looking to close the ward for four months.
The information was leaked before the DHSC was able to draft a comprehensive release to inform the public.
It would mean staff will be distributed across busier wards.
