The Department for Enterprise says a £2.25 million loan to King Williams College has to be repaid in under three year's time, after the institution sold the Buchan School site for £6.5 million.
A Freedom of Information request asked for details about the loan, which was granted last September.
In its response, the DfE said the college hasn't yet made any repayments under the arrangement but is due to repay the full amount by January 2029.
But it said it wouldn't release details of the instalment schedule related to the sale of the Buchan site because it is due to be published in the school's financial statements.
And the department added some of the information requested couldn't be released because it was personal information and so couldn't be shared under data protection laws.
