There are no plans to introduce a proactive hair drug testing strategy.
That’s according to the Home Affairs Minister who says the need for such a system hasn’t been raised by the police, prison, probation service or courts.
Juan Watterson was responding to a question posed by Onchan MHK Zac Hall in the House of Keys yesterday.
The Onchan MHK wanted to know if the seized assets fund could be used to fund such a service.
Mr Hall was told to raise the matter with the Police Advisory Group where it would be determined if the idea needed considering.
