Newspaper confirms jobs are at risk

Isle of Man Newspapers has announced that a number of roles within the company are currently at risk of redundancy.

The news comes following a review into its organisational structure.

The Douglas-based company says it wants to align staff resources to provide expert content gathering, provide administrative support and maximise revenue opportunities.

Currently at risk are the positions of senior advertising manager, business development manager and training manager, with one field sales advertising representative also under threat.

On top of this, voluntary redundancy has been requested from within the editorial team.

Last month the company moved its printing operations to the UK, which resulted in the loss of seven full-time positions and a number of part-time jobs.

A further announcement is expected in due course.
