The Department of Infrastructure has been advertising for a new airport director on the government's jobs website.
It says the post involves running a safe and efficient airport, advising on services and generating money to pay for operational costs.
However, hours after the job opening was published to the website, the listing was removed, with a message saying the position is now closed and applications no longer being accepted.
The job pays up to almost £89,000 a year.
