Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly says he wants the Manx Museum to open its doors on Sundays.
Middle MHK Bill Shimmins asked the minister why the establishment is closed to the public in Tynwald this week.
In response, Mr Skelly said his department would like to see extended openings on Sundays for both Island residents and visitors.
The minister says the department will meet with the board of trustees in 2018 to discuss the matter.
