Murder Trial: Jury shown footage of alleged murder scene

Neil Roberts was found dead in 2013

Police footage from the scene of an alleged murder in Castletown has been played in court.

Today the jury was shown the first piece of evidence in a trial which is expected to last for at least 20 days.

The footage, filmed by officers in December 2013, shows the crime scene at 40 Queen Street.

Pictured in the house, on the living room floor, was the body of 60-year-old Ballabeg man Neil Roberts - his head surrounded by blood stained towels.

He was pronounced dead at the property by emergency services in the early hours of December 1st.

As well as viewing the video footage the team of 12 jurors will visit the scene in person.

46-year-old Castletown man Ian Anderson, who lived at the address, has been charged with his murder and is now standing trial - he denies the charge.

The trial continues.
