The Manx Utilities Authority has applied for permission to put up two smoking shelters for its workers.
In a planning application, the organisation says it wants one shelter behind its main administration building and another at the back of its operational building.
Each is large enough to accommodate between six and eight people.
Both buildings are at its headquarters on the Isle of Man Business Park in Braddan.
