The Infrastructure Minister says a lot of time and money has been spent on the Crogga project.
Crogga's board decided last Friday not to renew their license on a project to extract gas from the Islands seabed.
In the House of Keys this week, Middle MHK Stuart Peters asked Dr Michelle Haywood if a commercial gas field was a possibility in future and how much had been spent on the project.
But Dr Haywood said she didn't have the exact figures to hand:
