Minister applauds Island's police force

The Home Affairs Minister says he’s pleased with new evidence of another significant decrease in recorded crime.

According to new figures, crime fell by a further six per cent over the past 12 months, with substantial reductions in many categories.

The end-of-year crime performance statistics highlight an overall detection rate of 52%, almost double the average registered in England and Wales.

Juan Watterson outlined the specific areas he was most pleased of (see audio).
