Manx mosque petition branded 'trolling'

An online petition to build a mosque on the Isle of Man has been dismissed as trolling by social media users.

A Reddit user claimed to have set up the online petition - which calls on the government to fund the project - because they're Muslim but have nowhere on the Island to worship.

However, social media users have been quick to point out the Isle of Man already has an Islamic place of worship.

And AI detectors say the petition's text is 100 per cent likely to have been written by ChatGPT - as well as an image portraying a possible mosque on a Douglas street.

A Reddit moderator has since removed the post.
