Manx Grand Prix practice session gets underway in perfect conditions

There were no major incidents, however rider Tony Bakker was taken to Nobles with a neck injury after he came off at Ballacraine.

53 newcomers took part in last nights first Manx Grand Prix practice session which could finally get underway in good weather.
 
Saturday’s practice was cancelled due to rain.
 
Conditions were described as good with dry roads all round the Mountain Course but competitors were warned about bright sunlight and strobe effects through the trees.
 
The growing international interest in racing on the Isle of Man was reflected by newcomers from Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa, The USA, France and Finland.

Today’s session sees the Classic, Classic Superbike, Junior Post Classic Lightweight and Newcomers B get underway at 18.20.
