A man who punched his partner in a drunken attack will be sentenced next month.
Diogo Miguel Monteiro Ramos of Cushag Road in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 31 year old admitted assaulting the woman at their home on August 27, and charges of domestic abuse and criminal damage were withdrawn by the prosecution.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing Ramos verbally abused the woman after he’d been out drinking with friends – but the abuse turned into an attack which saw him punch her in the face.
Magistrates asked for pre-sentencing reports to be prepared and bailed him in the sum of £500 on condition he doesn’t contact his victim.
He’ll appear again for sentencing on August 31.
