A man who installed a hidden baby monitor covering his ex-girlfriend’s bed has admitted harassment, two years after he assaulted the same woman.
Nedyalko Ivanov Marinov of Hillary Park in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 40 year old had pleaded guilty to a single count of harassment at an earlier hearing.
The court heard he repeatedly messaged the woman over the course of a month, and jacked up her car when she shut off electricity to the camper van he lived in.
Prosecutor Barry Swain told the hearing Marinov had been convicted of assaulting the woman in 2020.
Mrs Hughes said he’d shown little understanding of the impact of his actions and didn’t understand the meaning of a healthy relationship.
Marinov was put on probation for nine months and handed a 12-month restraining order banning him from contacting his victim.
He was also ordered to pay £125 costs.
