RNLI crew in Peel assisted a yacht with engine failure on Friday night.
At around 10pm they responded to a Coastguard request to assist a sailboat who'd lost power some five miles northwest of Peel.
The station's relief lifeboat 'Mary Margaret' located the boat and it was safely recovered, with the lifeboat returned to the station and ready again for service by 1:15am.
Volunteer coxswain, Jon Corlett, says they were able to use the new towing equipment and techniques the RNLI has introduced for the greater safety of crews and casualties.
