KSF to be Investigated by Serious Fraud Office
Just when you thought the topic had died down it’s looking like Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander could return to the forefront of our attention following the Serious Fraud Office announcing that they would be investigating the Icelandic bank.
The bank will be investigated by the SFO to see if they misled customers when attracting new business in the build up to its collapse.
The complex investigation will cross numerous jurisdictions,
The SFO will be looking particulary at whether the bank still continued to take on new business fully in the knowledge that it was teetering on the brink of collapse, the issue of large sums of money flooding out of the bank in the days leading upto the closure will also come under scrutiny.
