A talented young writer has been invited to the House of Lords after his success in a national poetry competition.
Josh Carridge, who is a year six pupil at Onchan School, wrote a poem about the First World War as a part of his 'narrative poetry' lessons; you can read it here.
His teacher entered it into what she thought was a local competition only to find out weeks later that Josh was a runner up - and had been competing against 1400 other students from across the UK.
